Massage may include, such techniques as, stroking, kneading, gliding, percussion, friction, vibration, compression, passive or active stretching within the normal anatomical range of movement; effleurage (either firm or light soothing, stroking movement, without dragging the skin, using either padded parts of fingertips or palms); petrissage (lifting or picking up muscles and rolling the folds of skin); or tapotement (striking with the side of the hand, usually with partly flexed fingers, rhythmic movements with fingers or short rapid movements of sides of the hand).
Massage therapy equipment
You can expect to see as you enter the clinic cubicle a massage table, which is ready for you to lie upon or if you do not wish to lie down then massage chairs are available. Your modesty is always taken into consideration and sheets and towels are provided for your comfort.
Massage therapy chairs
Massage chairs are not for everyone but they are very useful for back, neck and shoulder massages. If you have never experienced a massage before then I hope this site has encouraged you to do so. It is one of the most restful, healing, stress releasing therapy's available. We care what you think... its what we do the best.
